This is a free method that is just starting to become popular. While you don’t sell in the video itself, your job is to get their attention and get them curious enough to click on a link to your site where you will have the sales page and closing comments to get them buying.

If you love to make videos, you can create information videos to build your brand and awareness and get your name out there. The more people get to recognize your name and face, they will begin to trust you and will then sign up for your email list, buy something from you or order some services from you.

This is one of the free methods of advertising that seems to work. Posting ads in free classifieds, free ezines and other places that allow you to post your advertisements do not generate much traffic or sales.

You can make a video on most computers with the built in cameras or if you have a web cam you can create a video and then do editing in a free program such as Microsoft Movie Maker. This too, is usually included on all computers (except MACs).

You can then upload your video to Youtube and about a dozen other popular video sharing sites that receive a lot of traffic.

Email Marketing

CPA (Cost Per Action) is another method you could pay for. This is when you pay other affiliate marketers something like .50 or $1 for a lead. This is normally a name and email address. No one has to buy anything so this often has excellent results for the affiliate marketer who gets a lot of traffic to their site. But because it is a low payment for the marketer, they know the money is in the volume so unless they do have a lot of traffic, this method is not the best way to make money for them.

This is also not a good method for an entrepreneur to use either if they do not have a good list and relationship with their email list. The only reason why business owners pay for leads is because they know that they can turn that lead into money down the road.

You should be able to make $1 to $7 for every person on your email list. But this is also another advertising and marketing method that must be studied more so that you do not waste your time. Many people do not see money from their list for a while once they have them. The trick is to keep them on your list, get them to open your messages and learn to trust you. Once they do, they will eventually buy off of you. But you need to nurture that relationship. You cannot act like they are just there to make you money because if you don’t treat them right, you won’t have any money.

You can also have a free avenue for building your list with a squeeze page and a free offer such as a book or piece of software that they receive when they sign up. This does save you money but is a slower process for the most part unless your blog/website/squeeze page receives a lot of traffic.

If you don’t have a product to give away or sell, you can purchase what is known as PLR material. This can be books, videos, courses, or even software. What you do is go through it, make some changes, add some things if you want, and then put your name on it.  It then becomes your own product to sell or give away.

You can purchase PLR material many places online and one of my favourite places to find content is through Easy PLR. They are my personal favourite and I have never heard anything bad about them. The owner Nicole Dean is also a big time successful marketer who teaches at an event called NAMS twice a year where many of us go to learn more tricks for growing our business online.

When you have an email list, you can send special offers to them that offer them extras for purchasing. For example, if you were trying to host an event and needed to sell tickets but needed to gain more exposure, you could offer a free report you had just written, a free coaching session, or something else you may feel like they would benefit from depending on your niche if they agreed to buy your tickets.

Advertising-Finding the Best Marketing Practices

There are many marketing practices you could follow when looking for the best way to advertise yourself or your business. Some work better for specific business models while others are geared to things like social media and networking or offline avenues.

Often it takes a lot of money to find which method works the best for you. This is why many companies make sure that they have a nice sized budget for marketing and advertising. Split testing is key. Split testing is merely the trial and error of various methods to see which works best.

CPC, PPC and CPM marketing methods

For example:

You are trying to sell your new software. You know it was a good deal. You came up with the idea, found an excellent outsourcer from the freelance site called vworker and paid $210. You did the research beforehand to ensure that this was a product others would be in need of and now you just need to figure out the best way to get it into as many hands as possible with the least amount of cash spent.

You would normally draft up some adverts, slogans, banners and perhaps a newsletter or page long solo ad. It is best to have several of these made up so that you can start your split testing process.

You will try each advert out with each marketing method to see which one gets the most traffic and sales for the least amount of money spent.

Online there are ways to do this. Today we will talk about CPC or PPC and CPM.

Cost Per Click(CPC) or Pay Per Click(PPC). This is when you pay a certain amount of money (say 0.02) every time someone clicks on your ad. IF you are using Google, then your ads are put up on the search pages that are relevant to your niche when someone goes searching or if an affiliate marketer adds a code to their site and they have a niche blog suitable for your product, your ad may show up on there.

This can be costly depending on how you do it, which keyword you choose to use, and more. Most people need to take a course to learn how to properly implement this method or else they risk losing hundreds of dollars without really learning anything they need to know in regards to what it working.

CPM or Cost Per Million is a different sort of system. This means that you pay a certain price for every time your ad is put up on a site or page to be viewed. People don’t have to click on it at all. Once again, this method is suitable for specific products and niches. It is through the testing phase that you will learn what works best for your products.

Normally you start out with a campaign for each and watch them closely. When you see which one seems to be bringing in the results, you drop the other one.

While many internet marketers can make a lot of money with this advertising method, those who are new, do not have the proper training or have a big cash flow, are advised to try other methods at first.

Facebook Ads are cheaper than Google ads when you do first set out on paid advertising methods such as this. There are millions of people on Facebook every day and internet marketers are finding that it is a goldmine for selling no matter what your niche is if you use the right keywords and marketing slogan.

Tips to Organize All That PLR Content

Let me ask you a quick question: Do you have any Private Label Rights (PLR) content just sitting on your computer, taking up storage space? Well, if you are like me, or most other Internet marketers, you probably have a ton of the stuff that you are not doing anything with.

If you’ve been working online for any amount of time, you’ve probably purchased private label rights content at some point or another. PLR is a great tool that helps website owners add quality content to their websites without having to hire a ghostwriter to write it all for them or spend countless hours writing all of their content from scratch.

If you’ve purchased your fair share of PLR and find that it’s taking up tons of space on your computer’s hard drive and you’re having a hard time determining what content you’ve used and where and which articles you still have available for use, you’ll be happy to know, you’re not alone. It’s not uncommon to becoming disorganized with your PLR, until now that is.

Here’s one way you can organize your PLR content so that you know what’s been used and what is still waiting to find it’s way to the spotlight of your website or newsletter.

First, organize all your PLR by either niche or website. If you own more than one website it might be best to use the later organization method. Move all the articles that you want to use on that website into the site’s folder. Within your website folder create two folders. The first labeled “Rewritten – Ready for Posting to site” and the second, “Used.”

By creating two separate folders you can move the articles to the “Rewritten” folder once you’ve reworked them and they are ready to be added to your blog or website. After you have added them to your site, simply cut and paste the article to the “Used” folder.

4 Common Misconceptions about PLR Content

Recently, in an interview, I was asked this question:

“Can you explode any misconceptions that stop people from using PLR content?”

Here is my answer.

There are four main myths that I run into regularly.

1. The biggest misconception that people have is that all PLR is crap.

2. The second biggest misconception is that ghostwriters are not good writers. We can even take that a step further and add that people assume they are stupid, taken advantage of, and/or they don’t speak English as their native language.

3. The third misconception is that using PLR takes away from your expert status.

4. The fourth misconception is that PLR and ghostwriting are somehow dishonest.

Let’s run through those one by one.

Myth #1: All PLR is Crap.

If you go back to about 2003, then I’d say that you are absolutely correct. Nearly all PLR at that time was junk. There may have been a few exceptions, but I wouldn’t touch most of that PLR content with a 10-foot pole.

We’ve made great strides in the last few years to raise the standards for what is acceptable and what is not in the PLR world. I’d like to think that I was one of the leaders in that movement.

Myth #2: Ghostwriters are Stupid.

I’ve got to tell you that I’ve worked with some ghostwriters who are brilliant in many ways. Oftentimes, they’re fabulous communicators, smart marketers, and hard working entrepreneurs. And, yes, they’re qualified to write quality information on many topics on the internet.

For instance, for a long time, I had a nurse writing my health PLR articles. I’ve also got a writer who graduated from Stanford University, who writes for several popular print magazines, and is a published author. Yes, she has her own book. And, another who had a career as a Political Speech Writer (before having children). That’s just three of my writers. They’re all amazing people, each with a variety of skills and life experience.

To assume they aren’t capable of writing quality content would be just silly.

I don’t just go to and take the lowest bidder. To think that’s how all PLR sites work would certainly be a misconception.

Myth #3: You’re Not a “Real” Expert if you Use PLR.

The other misconception is that using PLR articles takes away your own value as the expert. That you are somehow cheating, plagiarizing, or that you’re a phony if you use PLR.

Business is all about cutting costs while increasing the bottom line. What better example is there than PLR content?

If you use PLR articles as drafts, they are delivered to you, ready for you, as the expert, to add your unique thoughts to them.

If you look at PLR like that – you can still keep your personality in your brand – and your sanity at the same time.

Myth #4: Using Ghostwriters or PLR is Cheating.

Most biographies in the bookstores are written by ghostwriters.

Most of the famous orations from our history were written by someone other than the public figure who gave the speech.

It’s not cheating to get help. It’s smart business.

1. The content is not unique. You share the articles with the other people who purchased the package or membership.
2. You can’t submit the PLR articles to article directories.
3. The quality can be questionable.
4. You have to find PLR packages in your niche – or hope that the membership you signed up for sends you ones that you can use.

How can you even the odds between the two? Find a quality PLR service that allows you choose your topics. If the articles are well written, and their distribution is limited, it’s almost as good as getting ghostwritten content just for you. That way, you get the best of both worlds – quality content at a great price.

Choosing the Right E-Commerce Solution

I have been debating a few things in regards to e-commerce these days. I have set up and used several e-commerce software solutions over the last few years.

Recently, I have been setting up an affiliate program for my products. As with many products out there, individual sales pages are created. In these pages, a long sales pitch is detailed with benefits and a call to action for the reader.

When you use an e-commerce store though, you have a bunch of products within the same area. Although you do have a sales page section it is meant more for a description before the cash out button.

With online stores becoming more of an attraction for business owners, buyers are liking the shorter form of sales page found in the e-commerce shop setup. As long as you still detail the benefits, and describe how the product will help the customer, that is really all you need to sell an item. Do you see Walmart throwing up long 3-page sales pitches for all 500k products they have? Wow, that would be time-consuming. Instead, they practice the art of making their product as enticing as possible to the customers with as little wording as possible.

So, although I have created a long sales page for a couple of my products to do some conversion testing, I am still an e-commerce lover who would rather run a store.

How do you decide what store to choose? Are you a techie? If not, installing one of the e-commerce choices included in your hosting control panel is probably the best way to go. Then all you need to do is click a few buttons to install and spend some time adding products, and a logo to make your own designer storefront.

As you learn more, you can do more. If you are still scared of anything technical, there are always sites such as that allow you to set up a shopping cart on your site by just clicking on a widget. I often encourage new beginners to start with this type of site because you can start for free. Then as you get more familiar with the way things work, you can upgrade to more product availability.

The Benefits of Using PLR material to make you money

I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately about Private Label Rights (PLR) content. I used to think that it was only for lazy people who didn’t want to do their own writing. But as I learn more, I’ve come up with lots of great ways I can use PLR in my own business.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, PLR is content that you get from the original author along with their permission to use it as your own. So you can get a great report, put your name on it and have your own product to sell or give away!

The first couple of products I created using PLR only took me about half an hour. There have been a few sales so far from them so that was definitely time well spent.

When searching for PLR content to use, I found there were a lot of different types of sites available. Some offer monthly memberships and others offered just one time purchases. So be sure to look around before you decide where to buy.

The site I found that was by far the best was PLRWholesaler. Not only do they have an unbelievable amount of content, but it’s completely FREE. Most sites charge an arm and a leg for the amount of content that this guy is giving away.

And although I haven’t been through everything yet, what I have read is very good quality. It’s stuff you would actually want to use as your own.

Since it’s free, I highly recommend that you check out PLRWholesaler and see if they have anything that you can use in your business. There just may be an ebook or audio recording that you could quickly brand your information and start selling to your list.

Building a List

We all want to be successful online. Some of us prefer to promote affiliate products due to not having any of our own yet, or just because we enjoy being able to promote so much of a variety of products. Whichever choice works best for you, amassing a targeted list of potential buyers is something we should all be setting our sights on. Although there is tons of free information online of how to create a list, it all boils down to having the traffic to build up this subscriber base.

Once you start to build up your list, regardless of how small or long it may take you, you need to treat your subscribers well. Offer freebies now and again, don’t harass with too many emails and talk to your customers/subscribers like they matter and are not just a means to dollars in your bank. Relationships take a long time to develop and grow. You want your customers to trust you. This will take time. If you come right off and start pushing sales without offering freebies, or useful information, you will soon find yourself alone without a list after everyone has opted out.

It may be harder now to get optins due to the fact everyone is trying to accomplish the same thing but it is not impossible with a lot of persistence and dedication. So go get that account for $20 a month, create your optin form, throw it up on your website or blog, and set up your first 5-10 emails with your freebie promos, offers, and introductions. Be patient as it may take some time to start getting people signing up but they will. The first signup is the hardest.

A Look at Info Products

I just wanted to discuss some aspects of information products today. I came across a free ebook that discussed making and selling info products. As I love reading info products, sell info products, and create info products, I am always trying to keep up with as much as I can.

The ebook I want to review today is called eBook Marketing 101. This is 19 pages. I will list the pros and cons as they occurred to me.

As I was reading through this ebook, the author was discussing how he/she made a lot of money writing and selling these products. I had to laugh. Since there were missing pages, and I felt like parts of the book were just rehashed info written another way, I was not convinced that this person truly made a lot of money. Maybe I am just picky but when I review something and it is not professional enough for me to believe this person is an expert, I tend to disbelieve most of what the message is trying to portray.

I have been guilty of this I am sure. I do have my own editor for my products, as I know my grammar is the worst. I can write with no problems, yet grammar structure I can not seem to nail. I guess though, if I could, as well as other writers out there, there would be no need for editors to be employed.

It is not such a big deal to have a free product not be perfect but most people expect that when they pay for something they will get their money’s worth or money back. With info products, you usually do not get your money back due to the nature of the product. Although most upstanding businesses will offer a money back guarantee or a replacement of some type to keep the customer happy and avoid negative feedback. The problem with free products not being as professional as paid products are that most people will never find that out once they see that the free product was lacking.

Internet Marketing is a learning process. It takes most of us years to get to the point where we can even feel secure in what we know. let alone call ourselves experts. I do not want to be a “Guru”. I prefer to write what I have learned, create products, and them tell people that I do know what I am talking about due to experience and learning through my own applications but am by no means an expert for others to “worship” or follow blindly to the ends of the earth. This way I can share what I have learned at the same time as others can hold my advice and guidance in the right perspective. It is a win-win for all.
