Safelist Usage: Is it worth your time?

There is much controversy about using safelists and other such types of services. Many swear that these services enabled them to build up large lists while not having one of their own yet. Others say that they are a waste of time.
I find that regardless of what marketing method you choose to use for your own business, they all may have the potential to work depending on the person who uses them as well as the type of business you are trying to market. Much like traffic exchanges. If you are trying to sell shoes and accessories, trying to get anything going for your business in traffic exchanges or safelists, would not be a wise way to spend your time. The only people/businesses who benefit from these types of services are those who are promoting list building tools/services, and those who are promoting traffic related items.
I find that some of the safe lists that are out there are pretty good. I have only maybe tried 5 or 6 out of the possible hundred or more around, but I was just testing the waters. I found some of them though just sent way to much email for you to read to be able to submit your email ads every 3 days or 5 days or even 7 and 10 days.
I am going to tell you about one such service though. It may not be one of the big ones other marketers are pushing, but you can mail to your choice of 4 different lists, all which have ranging from 4000-24000 members. Although with the free membership your email only gets sent to 500 people a day. But if you think about it, sending out to 500 every day with that much of a choice, can really add up.
It also has a pretty good affiliate program. You get paid $10 for everyone who joins and upgrades to a pro(which is worth it if you find you have gotten some response from your testing) And the best part for me is that although you do have to read 10 emails a day in order to send your own ad, you only do it from their site once you log into your account. No clogging up your email inbox(I already have enough coming in, don’t you?)
If you want to do a test run, you can find your favorite affiliate program that is offering residual income(you know the kind that you only have to make one sale and you get paid something every month), find the email ad that they offer(you may want to add a little to it to personalize it, or change it up a little for more success), create an account from the site with the link I leave below, and then read your 10 emails required, and blast your ad away.
If you do this day in and day out(takes like 20 mins if that, from your day) to test it with all 4 of the lists there, for say 3-6 months, you will be able to see what kind of results you get. If you like the results, you can try a different affiliate promotion to see if you get the same type of results.
Be sure to track your results from all campaigns you run for your business. Hits Connect is one of the best programs I find out there to do that. It is free to join, there are tons of tools to help you out, and you can even have access to other programs you can make money with. It is worth the look and is a must have tool for every business owner as far as I see it.
O.k. so, today you were given a reason to try out a safelist that does not clog up your inbox with other people’s ads, and you can send out an email to 500 people each and every day. I think this should work regardless of whatever niche you are in, it just may have better results for make money/traffic and listbuilding businesses. I am going to be trying it out with my weightloss site next so I will keep you posted to let you know which of my campaigns are doing better.
Now, the next step is up to you. Go and sign up at Trade-A-List and Hits Connect and get started setting up your campaigns. It may take you a little while today to get it all set up, but once it is running, it will only take you 15-20 mins a day to add this extra income stream possibility into your marketing strategies.
You never know if something will work for you unless you try it. And then give it a good enough go like the 3-6 months. If you still have not made a sale in that time, try another campaign or move on, it will be your choice.
Here’s to your success! Be sure to come back on here and comment if you are having success with these programs or even if they did not work for you. Others can benefit from hearing our experiences.

Using Traffic Exchanges for hits and signups
There has been some discussion of whether or not traffic exchanges really work or are a waste of time. They do work, you just need to know the right type of website to promote. You need to promote a SPLASH page such as an optin form. You have 10-25 seconds to grab their attention.
More people are realizing the benefits of traffic exchanges online today. It seems like a new exchange is starting up every day. How do you know which ones to use? Does the number of members necessarily mean that you will gain more? Is your website a good fit for these exchanges? These are some of the questions you need to answer before you invest the time in signing up.
I have spent the last 6 months trying out about 50 or so exchanges. There are hundreds more that I have not tried, nor do I have the time. I chose some of the big ones that have been around for a long time and have over 50k members, as well as I have tried some of the newer ones that only have 2000 members.
Here are a few things I have learned.
These are the few exchanges I would like to recommend. I did like about 17 exchanges, but I have narrowed it down to my favorite 6. I have tried exchanges that have guaranteed cash amounts for every so many pages, as well as exchanges that just have tons of contests and prizes to be won every day.
Dolphin Surfing- Sister site of Hawaiian Hitz!I love this site! Tons of cash, banner and text credits. You can win from .03-$20. It is also Hover so you don’t even have to click, just glide! Also $5 for every 5 referrals. You can make some good monthly income while promoting your own sites.

Top Surfer- I like this site because you get 2 cents for every 35 pages, which is the best rate out there. Although the only way to make money and not just credits for referrals is by buying a $10 a month reseller/wholesaler license in which you resell for your $10 back and more. Payout is $10.

Truckload O’Hits is a new but very promising site. surf for cash-offer was a free referral and $5 but not sure if you get that still, you need to email Jason and ask him if he is still doing that. you get percentage of revenue of site per month, and contests and prizes. $25 payout. And like all the other sites, you get credits for all your refs surfing every day. If you build up enough, you may only have to surf once a week to keep your account active.
Ways to Advertise for Free
I have known for a long time about the many free advertising sites that are out there like Craigslist and Kijiji. But I never realized how many people actually go one step further with their advertising. I went browsing around on youtube today looking for some information to post on resale rights options. I didn’t find anything of use. What I did find was tons of videos on how to make money online for free.
Since most of these are known to be scams, I don’t know if I would necessarily want my face up on a video promoting crap. I do appreciate the ability to promote so well, and free. Video does say things better than a text ad or even photos within an ad. It makes me wonder where advertising is going to be in another 10 years with all of our modern technology.
My son made me a video for my business a few years ago when I had my Ebook Store. I was impressed with the fact that a 15 year old could do something in an hour that would have taken me a few hours. Kids these days are learning computers right from the age of four. Most of us growing up never knew what a computer was until we were much older. Even if we did get lucky and have a computer, the internet was something that was not as accessible as it is now, if it was around.
You can make videos for youtube using powerpoint, video cameras, and software such as Camtasia. My mother just bought a video phone called “the Flip” it is a little expensive, costing around $180 Canadian after taxes but it was rated as one of the best to use by top internet marketers. You can use it for youtube videos, creating interviews, lessons, and so many other things you may need in your business. Since it is Christmas, I am going to go looking for a store that has this on for a deal. I am sure I can find one. Evn if you like just using programs such as Powerpoint, there is still a lot of features you can use to create a compelling slide show that will entice viewers to come check out your website and products.
Go ahead, play around(do’t be afraid to ask your teenager, they probably will be able to help more than you know)and create as many videos as you can talking about your favorite things, selling your products, or just adding some insight into a topic for personal use and not professional. Creating and posting youtube videos every week, writing articles and submitting to ezines, talking in related forums, participating in Google and Yahoo groups, and utilizing free traffic exchanges(remember you only have to surf a half an hour to an hour a day to get some results)can help your business immensely without costing you a dime.
Who says marketing can’t be fun?!!!!
