Autoresponder Messages-Is Your List Responsive?

I realize I have written about autoresponders on one or two occasions before but I thought I would give you an update on my own personal experience and what I have learned that has made a difference to me.

First off, if you do not know, one of the best ways to build up a steady income is by building a list of loyal subscribers who are open to receiving emails from you. There are many autoresponder services you can use ranging from free to very expensive but I, and many other internet marketers have had much success using Aweber. It is affordable at $19 a month and you can have unlimited lists running(I have 7 now) and you also get a month free so you can give it a test drive, watch all the setup videos and tips they provide to help you get the best campaign running.

I used to just sign up fro affiliate programs and then copy and paste the emails from the programs blindly into my autoresponder. I would never talk to my subscribers on a personal level, never give them anything that I had personally written, created or had access to to offer them for free. Because of this, I found that even if half my list did not necessarily unsubscribe, they simply just deleted my emails never opening them at all.

For awhile I gave up on building a list. But then I read a good book by another successful internet marketer who talked about how you apply a certain procedure to your campaign.

1. You send a freebie out first
2. Then you send them a link to a blog post they may find useful that you just wrote up.
3. Then you could tell them about a new resource that you found that is free to use or download that will help them get organized or add value to their business.
4. Then you send them a recommendation to a PAID product that they may find useful. Make sure that you only endorse your own products or those you have personally used and benefited from. If you do want to use an email from the product/program itself, reword it or add an opening and closing to it of your own words so that your subscribers can still get to know the real you and trust what you are saying. Plus it is often more convincing if they can read just how the product helped you.

You then rinse and repeat that process. In this way, you are staying in touch with them but not always seeming like you want them for their money. Which after all this is not the bottom line. You hope that you will make some money, but you really need to build up a solid trusting relationship with your subscribers in order to get anything out of your time and efforts.

This is what I have learned and applied in the last 6 months. And although I still only have a list of a couple hundred people, I have more open rates happening, a few people have emailed me with questions and comments and I feel I am very close to making some sales in the near future if I keep this up. I feel better about myself and not feel like I am a failure or a greedy monger.

If you haven’t started your list yet, you need to get on over to Aweber and sign up. They have a ton of new opt in templates that are really cool looking, and even some new email templates for those that want to add that personal or professional touch to their emails(I have my logo and photo on one of mine). While it may take time to build up a solid list that will start to take your advice and buy the products you recommend, once you have established a good relationship with your subscribers, you could see your income doubling, tripling or even quadrupling in no time. If you are serious about building a profitable business online and finally stop working for someone else, you need to get on board with growing a list!

The mere acquisition of a niche market is not a guarantee that
you can already start building your opt-in list. Since, the
concept of opt-in list is specifically generated to aid in the
growth of the Internet Market of a particular entrepreneur, it
is important to have a niche market that is available through
the Internet.

The concept is basically simple, how can you promote your online
business if your niche market is not available in the Internet?

Hence, it is extremely important to verify if your target market
is available online.

3. Verify if your chosen target market is an income-generating
market.

Building a highly targeted opt-in list will just go to waste if
your niche market is not generating any income at all.

Try to verify their income-generating potential through the search
engines, wherein you will find some paid ads related to the keywords
you have searched. This would only mean that if somebody is willing
to pay to advertise focusing on the same target market that you have
in mind, chances are, you will be able to reap positive results on
your target market.

4. Generate solutions to the problems of your target market by using
Internet forums.

Using forums will help you determine the underlying solutions that
will answer to most of your target market’s problems.

Through their posts and threads, you will be able to identify your
target market’s problems and will be able to come up with great
solutions. That, will also come very handy when you start building
your opt-in list.

Indeed, the success of an online business or your Internet Marketing
efforts greatly depend on your opt-in list.

It’s Time for Another Giveaway Event!

I know, I know…It seems like I just like to post about giveaway events based on all of my posts.

I decided to see if Michael’s videos live up to
their promise by trying them out myself. Here’s

The first thing I noticed when I opened up the
first video was the stunning production quality.
He used Camtasia Studio for the production, which
is now the industry standard for creating
high-quality screen capture video products. The
audio is near studio quality, and the graphics
are very professional. These videos were made by
someone who KNOWS what he’s doing. Well done!

I also liked how Michael divided the videos up by
section, and then again by sub-section. For
example, one video is all about the subject line,
and then there are different parts of that video
that each cover a certain area of crafting a
killer subject line.

VIDEO 1 – INTRODUCTION

This video served as an introduction to the whole
course. You get to see a picture of Michael in
his every day life, and he establishes his
credibility right up front by talking about some
of his massive successes online. He even provides
proof of credibility by displaying two checks in
the amount of $50,000 and $25,000 which prove
that, when it comes to the subject of making
money with email promos, he knows his stuff.

This is a good lesson for anyone to get. Whenever
you’re teaching people how to do something, it’s
good to establish your credibility up front, so
that there’s no doubt about whether or not you’re
qualified to talk about the subject. Most product
developers either skip or minimize this step.

VIDEO 2 – BEFORE YOU WRITE THE PROMO

This video talks about some things that no other
marketer has bothered to mention. You’ll learn
things like:

* The mindset you need in order to write a killer

* The different tools you need before you get
started

* How to keep your emails laser-focused

* How to create an outline that practically

This was a fantastic video, and did a good job of
kicking things off.

of MY biggest weaknesses when it comes to writing
email promos… the subject line. The subject
line is a confusing topic, because nobody’s 100%
sure what the best tactics are.

Michael breaks it down, and reveals:

* Techniques for personalizing the subject line.

* Mistakes to avoid when using personalization.

I was surprised to find that I was making some of
the mistakes that Michael mentioned in this
video, but now I know better.

This is where a lot of people slack off when
writing their emails. Michael talks about how
important it is to create an opening that is
conversational, and then reveals techniques and
examples on how to do that.

He also reveals:

* How to get people to keep reading your email
once they’ve opened it.

* How to make your opening interesting.

* Mistakes to avoid when creating your first few
paragraphs.

VIDEO 5 – THE BODY COPY

This is one of the “meatiest” portions of the
course, because it reveals techniques that are
not widely discussed on the forums, blogs, and in
most eBooks. He talks about the importance of
keeping your body copy tight and relevant, and
then reveals how you can do that. You’ll also

* How to write powerful bullets that make people
curious and want to find out more.

* Simple formatting tricks for making your body
copy easy to read.

(this section was a real eye-opener for me).

VIDEO 8 – COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE

I loved this video, because it showed me some
mistakes that I was making that I wasn’t even
aware of. Unless you’re a seasoned pro, you’re
probably guilty of some of the things that
Michael talks about in this video as well, and
that’s why it’s so valuable. I’ve shaved years
off my learning curve, because now I can avoid
some of the costly mistakes that I was bound to
make in the learning process.

VIDEO 9 – HOW TO CREATE FOLLOW-UP EMAIL PROMOTIONS

This video alone is going to make me a lot of
money. Why? Because I used to only send out one
email promo for each affiliate promotion I was
doing. Michael showed me in this video how
important it is to send a follow-up promotion,
and he showed me exactly how to do it. He covered
things like:

* The psychology of follow-up email promo’s.

* The 2 main types of follow-up promos that make
the most money.

* How to overcome readers’ objections in your
follow up emails.

* The 2 most common mistakes people make when
writing follow-ups and how to avoid them.

VIDEO 10 – HOW TO WRITE BACK END EMAIL PROMOTIONS

Every marketing guru out there says that the REAL
money is on the back end. I’d have to agree with
them, but the problem is… most people have no
idea how to set up a back end system that makes
money. This video will teach you how to set up an
automated back end that’s loaded with killer
promos that make you lots of cash on autopilot.
He reveals things like:

* The big difference between regular and back end
email promos.

* How to prepare a back end promotion sequence.

This could be the most important video of the
entire package for a lot of people, because most

products as an affiliate. Let’s face it, if you
only have 3 products, can you really afford to
only email your list 3 times a year? They’ll get
bored hearing about the same old products over
and over again. This video sheds some light on
how to create killer affiliate promos. Michael
reveals things like:

* The two main types of affiliate promos.

* What makes affiliate promos different than
regular promos (and why ignoring this huge secret
could cost you big money).

* Michael’s favorite tactics for creating
affiliate promos that no one else is doing.

a lot of punch! Most of the courses out there
offer only watered down, weak content. Not this
one! These videos are going on my “A-list” for a
long time.

I’ve already watched them twice, and plan on
reviewing them every couple months to make sure
that I have the principals, techniques and
tactics burned into my mind.
